April 19, 2016, Bucharest: MedLife, the market leader in private healthcare services in Romania, announces the start of a new large-scale partnership following the acquisition of the majority stake in the DENT ESTET group of clinics. Currently, DENT ESTET is the largest operator of dental services in Romania, both in terms of turnover and number of units, with the group bringing together 7 clinics in Bucharest and around the country.
With more than 17 years of experience in Romanian dentistry, the DENT ESTET group of clinics is recognized as a pioneer in terms of trends and innovation in Romanian dentistry. Over the years, the company has strongly differentiated itself by super-specializing in dental treatments for each age group, adults, teenagers and children, with the medical team having obtained numerous certifications in Europe and the United States. DENT ESTET is also recognized for their facilities, with a good part of the available equipment being launched for the first time on the Romanian market.
DENT ESTET ended 2015 with a turnover of €5.5 million and has budgeted a 20% growth for 2016.
"DENT ESTET is one of the few niche businesses in Romania that has had a well-defined business strategy from the very beginning in terms of company development and expansion, and has been growing steadily year after year. These common values have been a very good premise to join forces and act under the umbrella of an integrated system, being a first in terms of aligning two leaders in the Romanian private healthcare market. In the next period we aim to expand the DENT ESTET group of clinics by at least 1-2 new units each year, with dentistry becoming one of the six business divisions within MedLife, alongside hyperclinics, laboratories, hospitals, maternity hospitals and pharmacies," said Mihai Marcu, Chairman of the Board of MedLife.
Following the finalization of this transaction, Oana Taban, founder and managing partner of the DENT ESTET group, will retain full management duties within the group, being directly responsible for the development and expansion strategy of the DENT ESTET network. Oana Taban will also take over the management of MedLife's dental division.
"We are honoured to partner with MedLife and to have our efforts over the past 17 years recognized and appreciated by the undisputed leader in the Romanian healthcare market. We have joined a company with which we share the same values and which has grown, as has DENT ESTET, always putting the needs of patients at the center of its activity. Therefore, we are confident that together we will contribute to the growth of the business, but also to the growth of the market, constantly investing in education, innovation and continuous development of our team of specialists. We will also continue to provide our doctors with the necessary support to fully dedicate themselves to the medical act and their professional development" said Oana Taban, Managing Partner DENT ESTET.
The acquisition of the DENT ESTET group of clinics would represent the 10th transaction carried out by the MedLife group, with the first nine completed.
"We have recently completed all the transactions announced in recent months, namely the Prima Medical Imaging Center in Craiova, the Cells Stem Cells Stem Bank in Timișoara and the Diamed group of clinics and laboratories. At the moment, we are in advanced discussions with 4-5 healthcare operators, and we aim to finalize transactions with companies with a turnover exceeding 20 million euros in the next 18 months", said Mihai Marcu, Chairman of MedLife's Board of Directors.
The DENT ESTET group of clinics has been the market leader in the field of dental services in Romania since 1999. In these 17+ years since its opening, the team has expanded to a total of 200 specialists, including 73 doctors, who have treated more than 50,000 patients.
Recognized for its contribution to the development of the private dental field in our country, the group of clinics inaugurated in 2008 DENT ESTET 4 KIDS and in 2012 DENT ESTET 4 TEENS, the first dental clinics in Romania and Eastern Europe exclusively dedicated to children and teenagers.
Among the innovations brought to the Romanian market are the externally invisible braces, oral cancer prevention test, as well as high-performance medical management and marketing systems through the Association of Dental Office Managers (ADOM).
