About

Dr. Cătălin Eremie is a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry at Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest and is currently a member of the DENT ESTET team.

He chose dentistry out of a desire to learn more, to develop professionally, but above all to treat people with dental conditions.

A challenge he faces daily is that of offering personalised solutions tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes. Every person is different, which is why he believes it is essential for medical training to be complemented by emotional and spiritual development.

The most satisfying moment is at the end of a treatment plan when the patient smiles happily, satisfied with the experience and the result

“It is the patient’s smile that truly matters. The joy and confidence I offer my patients motivate me to practise dentistry to the highest standards.”

For Dr. Cătălin Eremie, family and friends are his most important values. He enjoys any activity that brings loved ones together and creates moments of good cheer. He is a keen sportsman and never misses a chance to play a game of football or volleyball. He also takes part in marathons and enjoys fishing in the wilderness.

A conversation with Dr. Cătălin Eremie

What drew you to dentistry, and how did you discover your interest in prosthetic restorations?

After first studying Dental Technology, I felt the desire to learn more about medicine, particularly dental medicine. During dental school, I became interested in prosthetic restorations, which I studied in greater depth.

When planning a treatment, how do you find the right balance between function, aesthetics and the patient’s expectations?

I always start with function, presenting the patient with the ideal treatment option from a medical perspective. Aesthetics follow naturally from improved function, and the patient needs to understand this through explanations provided with calm and patience.

From your perspective, what makes a smile successful?

To me, a successful smile is one that makes you want to smile all the time—not because you want to attract attention, but because you feel comfortable in your own skin.

How has digital technology changed the way you create prosthetic restorations and the patient’s experience in the dental office?

Digital technology helps me, as a dentist, understand how I can provide the best treatment plan, tailored to each individual patient.

The patient experience in the dental office has improved considerably in recent years thanks to these digital technologies, which help patients see and understand their dental problems and how we can treat them from both a functional and an aesthetic perspective.

Is there a particular case that has stayed with you and confirmed the impact oral rehabilitation can have on a patient’s quality of life?

Yes, there have been several. However, the most recent case that has stayed with me involved a patient from Italy for whom I performed a full-mouth rehabilitation. When she saw her smile in the mirror, she immediately began to cry and did not know how to thank me for everything I had done for her. It was an emotional moment for me as a dentist as well. Cases like this give me the satisfaction of seeing a treatment plan successfully completed.

Many patients believe that prosthetic treatment is only about restoring the appearance of their teeth. What do you tell them about the importance of function and proper occlusion?

I explain the importance of a healthy smile to my patients by starting with the principle of function. If our teeth are misaligned or some teeth are missing, occlusal imbalances can develop, affecting the bones, muscles and teeth. If the occlusion is not corrected through dental treatment, these problems will certainly worsen, potentially leading to dental pain, joint and muscle pain, digestive problems and other complications.

Complex oral rehabilitation often requires collaboration between several dental specialties. How does this collaboration work at DENT ESTET?

At DENT ESTET, collaboration in complex oral rehabilitation cases is guided by the final result we need to achieve. As the coordinating dentist, I must plan every stage of the treatment, determine how each specialty will be involved and establish which procedures need to be performed at each stage. When you have a clear vision of what needs to happen and communicate effectively with colleagues from the other specialties, the final result will certainly be predictable.

What is the greatest challenge in prosthetic treatment, and what motivates you most in your daily practice?

The greatest challenge in prosthetic treatment is ensuring that the teeth I create for my patients are in harmony with their facial features, physical build, profession and lifestyle.

Being able to see the patient as a whole is a skill you can develop by working closely with people and trying to understand them. Only then can you ensure that the individually selected proportions of aesthetic prosthetic restorations integrate perfectly into the patient’s smile.

If you could offer one piece of advice to people who postpone replacing missing teeth or renewing old dental work, what would it be?

You cannot put a price on health. The sooner you take action to address your dental problems, the sooner your life will change for the better in every respect.

Outside the dental office, what activities help you relax and maintain your balance?

I am an explorer and naturally curious. I enjoy relaxing with my son and my family, hiking with friends, trail running in the mountains, fishing in remote places, reading and going out. In short, I enjoy life and everything it has to offer.
