Philosophy

The most beautiful thing in dentistry is that moment when my patients look at themselves in the mirror for the first time right after removing their braces. They simply can’t stop smiling. Every time, I feel extremely privileged to have a profession through which I can instill more confidence and happiness in people.

Questions

Why did you choose to study dental medicine and later specialize in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics?

I chose to study dental medicine out of a desire to give patients beautiful, healthy, and confident smiles. Practicing dentistry requires technical skills, inventive thinking, and a lot of creativity. As for my specialization, I gravitated towards orthodontics because I, too, wore braces as a child and experienced firsthand the improvements they brought to my smile. I can truly say it changed my life, and since then, I have wanted to become an orthodontic specialist.

What is the most important thing when it comes to a healthy smile?

A healthy smile means, first and foremost, a correct bite. That’s why it is very important to visit an orthodontic specialist from the early years of life. Many parents do not know, for example, that a child’s first visit to the orthodontic specialist should take place around the age of seven. An incorrect bite can cause multiple dental problems both in childhood and adulthood.

Is there a course or moment that marked your professional development?

There have been several courses that have marked my professional development. I was particularly impressed by the ClearCorrect course in Barcelona, where I gained a lot of new information about the biomechanics of aligners and "tips and tricks" for achieving the best results using clear aligners. Patients are very satisfied with ClearCorrect aligners, as they are the most aesthetic and transparent aligners available today.

What would you say to adult patients who, for various reasons, delay seeking orthodontic treatment?

Patients need to be informed about the importance of an orthodontic consultation, not only for aesthetic reasons but also for functional ones. Wearing braces and aligning the teeth, along with correcting the dental occlusion, can resolve and prevent many dental, gingival, and periodontal issues.

Why should every child have an orthodontic consultation?

Early orthodontic treatment in children is essential because it can prevent more severe problems later in life, and correction is easier and faster in children, such as maxillary expansion, guiding bone growth, or correcting harmful oral habits.

It is very important for the first visit to the orthodontic specialist to take place around the age of seven, or even earlier in some cases. The orthodontist can observe the skeletal growth of the maxilla and mandible, tooth position anomalies, or malocclusions that can be easily corrected at this age.

What does the future of dentistry look like in orthodontics?

The future of orthodontics will undoubtedly be dominated by clear aligners, as they are much more practical and offer many significant advantages over traditional metal braces.

Do you have a mentor or someone who inspires you?

My inspiration is definitely Dr. William Proffit. I had the honor to attend Dr. William Proffit's course, the master of orthodontics, in Barcelona, where I was very impressed by the advice given, which completely changed my vision and understanding of biomechanics in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. His book, “Contemporary Orthodontics,” is to date the most comprehensive and appreciated book on orthodontics, which I reread with pleasure every time.

Do you have a favorite motto?

“If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”

What is the greatest satisfaction in your profession?

I feel happiest when patients confirm that they have started to smile more often and more broadly after orthodontic treatment.

What is your promise to patients?

I aim to be the best version of myself in what I do and to provide patients with the most beautiful and comfortable experience during orthodontic treatment. Due to the nature of my specialization, orthodontics has the power to transform people's lives, so I ensure that my patients benefit from a correct treatment plan and the guarantee of an excellent result, both functionally and aesthetically.
