Philosophy

A career in surgery is not an easy one, as there are many challenges in our day-to-day work, and we must be able to adapt to every clinical situation.

It is precisely this need for continuous improvement that provides me with the daily motivation to arrive at the dental practice as the best version of myself, regardless of external factors. My goals are focused on delivering exceptional results to my patients, regardless of the complexity of the cases.

Questions

Three words that best describe you.

Reliability, empathy, perseverance.

Why did you choose dentistry?

As for me, when I was a child, visits to the dentist were never something to be afraid of. On the contrary, they were pleasant experiences, and I understood from a young age why it is important to maintain good oral health.

I wanted to become a dentist like that myself, one who inspires patients to look after their dental health and not to put off visits to the surgery until it might be too late.

You have completed your residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. What attracted you most to this specialism, which often involves complex cases?

As a dental surgeon, there is a special feeling you experience when a patient who comes to you worried or facing a difficult clinical situation manages to smile again, with confidence, at the end of their treatment.

What motivates me most when dealing with complex cases is precisely this opportunity to restore hope to patients and, subsequently, the assurance that they can once again enjoy a normal life and a healthy smile.

How important is digital planning to the success of a surgical procedure today?

Digital planning and digital workflows are no longer optional; they have become key elements for the long-term success of surgical treatments.

This approach allows us to visualise the final result before the actual procedure begins. By using surgical guides, we translate this digital precision into clinical reality, significantly reducing patient discomfort and, crucially, the time spent in the dental chair.

What, in fact, gives you the greatest satisfaction as a dentist?

The moment when patients return with a smile on their faces, not just for a check-up, but to tell me that the treatment has changed their lives for the better.

For me, it is extremely important to see how patients who have needed complex oral rehabilitation, such as Fixed Teeth in 24 Hours, regain their self-confidence and the joy of interacting with others after treatment.

All too often, patients only come to the dentist when they are already suffering from tooth decay or tooth loss. What can we do to avoid serious dental problems?

It is particularly important to understand that preventive care – specifically, professional cleanings carried out at least twice a year – is the key to maintaining a healthy and attractive smile.

When we visit the dentist regularly, they can identify a dental problem before it gets out of hand and requires much more complex – and therefore more expensive – treatment.

If you had to give patients just one piece of essential advice for their general health – not just their dental health – what would it be?

Physical activity in any form – whether it’s a walk in the park, a hike in the mountains or a gym membership – should be a regular part of everyone’s weekly routine.

Did you have a mentor or role model at DENT ESTET? How did they influence your career path?

Yes, I had a mentor with whom I am still in touch. I believe that, regardless of one’s level of experience, a colleague’s perspective can always bring added value when managing complex cases.

For me, such a professional partnership means being open to continuous learning. At DENT ESTET, this is the approach that allows us to put our combined expertise at the service of the patient, ensuring they receive the best possible medical solution.

If you could give some advice to young people who want to become dentists at DENT ESTET, what would it be?

My advice is to approach every case with rigour and to understand that, at DENT ESTET, collaboration is our strength. They shouldn’t be afraid to ask for guidance when things take a complex turn.

This openness to dialogue is an opportunity to learn. Knowing that you can rely on your colleagues’ expertise gives you the confidence you need to successfully manage any difficult situation.

Have you ever had a patient or an experience that left a lasting impression on you at the dental practice?

I will never forget the experience of a patient who came to us in a very complex clinical condition, caused solely by a deep fear of the dentist, stemming from unpleasant experiences in the past.

It was a lengthy process, but we managed, step by step, to gain his trust. The moment at the end of the treatment, when he told me sincerely that he was glad to have met me, will stay with me forever. It is confirmation that, before treating teeth, we heal fears.

What hobbies do you have? How do you like to relax?

For me, relaxation means spending time outdoors with my family and loved ones, particularly cycling, both on the road and in the mountains. Sometimes, going for walks with friends is also a good way to escape the stresses of everyday life.
