Dr Liana Andruseac

Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics

About

Dr Liana Andruseac graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the “Gr. T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași in 2012.  Between 2013 and 2017, she completed her residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics at the Cluj-Napoca Emergency Clinical Hospital.
As a child, she noticed that people sometimes hesitate to smile sincerely and without reservation, even though a smile has the power to convey many emotions. He then set himself the goal of making people smile genuinely.
Later, his experience working in a dental practice reinforced his conviction that he wanted to work with children. Consequently, he decided to prepare for admission to dental school.

Philosophy

“Because life is a journey, I explore every day with curiosity. I enjoy discovering what makes each patient unique and treating them as a whole person.

I believe that a healthy smile is a very powerful tool, an asset, especially at a time when communication is so important.”

Questions

1. What is your specialism in dentistry, and what made you choose it?

Ever since my university days, I have felt a particular affinity for orthodontics. This specialism manages to harmoniously combine all aspects of dentistry, offering a comprehensive and holistic approach to dental health. Every case is a unique challenge, and the solutions I find not only improve my patients’ smiles but also contribute to their overall health.

Another aspect that brings me great joy is interacting with children. Working with them gives me the opportunity to positively influence their dental development and instil healthy oral hygiene habits in them.

2. What are the most memorable reactions from patients when they see their smile at the end of their treatment?

At the end of each treatment plan, I feel a deep sense of joy alongside my patients. It is a special moment, full of emotion, when their smiles shine brighter than ever. Some of them feel the need to capture that moment, taking memorable photographs, and I can only be delighted that they have chosen to preserve the memory of this moment. Others, with eyes full of gratitude, embrace me, wishing to thank me for my efforts. These simple yet meaningful gestures remind me of the impact I have on their lives and motivate me to continue providing the best possible service. Every smile I help to bring to their faces is a priceless reward for me.

3. How does it make you feel to know that you can bring a smile to people’s faces and change your patients’ lives?

It’s wonderful to see my patients smiling so beautifully, and I’m impressed by their patience and dedication. The impact is even greater when I look at the photos taken before their orthodontic treatment and the patients hardly recognise themselves. A beautiful smile that I’ve helped create makes my day.

4. What are the key aspects of a healthy smile, and how does it contribute to patients’ overall well-being?

Oral health is essential for leading a healthy life in every respect. There is a close link between the oral cavity and the digestive, circulatory, respiratory, cardiovascular, renal and endocrine systems. Dental health plays an important role in the process of chewing, which also contributes to the digestive process. For example, crowded teeth can cause asymmetrical muscle tension, lead to asymmetrical growth of the dento-maxillary system, cause speech problems and many other issues. The harmonious development of the facial bones contributes to correct breathing, speech and chewing. An equally important factor is the emotional one. More and more often, teenagers tell me that they hide their smile because of crowded teeth, or that they have been given nasty nicknames because of these problems.

Another aspect we must take into account is regular check-ups at the dentist. It is essential to visit the dental surgery at least twice a year, and children over the age of 7 should attend an orthodontic check-up. Many dental problems can be prevented or corrected more easily if action is taken early.

It is very important to see the dentist every six months and the orthodontist after the age of 7. Many dental problems can be prevented or corrected more easily if action is taken early.

5. Is there any advanced technology that you couldn’t imagine dental treatment without? Why is it important to you?

The dental scanner has become an indispensable tool in our practice, playing a vital role in diagnosis, treatment planning and visualising the final result. Not only does it facilitate a quick and accurate assessment, but it also enhances the patient experience by reducing the discomfort associated with traditional methods.

Furthermore, dental imaging, particularly CBCT scans, plays a vital role in obtaining accurate, detailed information for a comprehensive diagnosis.
MODJAW 4D technology proves to be extremely useful, contributing significantly to the diagnosis and guiding the treatment plan. By integrating these cutting-edge technologies, I am able to deliver precise and personalised results, tailored to the needs of each patient.

6. What motivates you to always be innovative and avoid falling into a rut in your day-to-day work?

Consultations with patients are important to me, as they give me not only the opportunity to help, but also to learn constantly. Every patient has a unique story, and my desire to achieve the best possible outcomes drives me to keep up to date with the latest research and innovations in the medical field.

The decisions I make can significantly influence my patients’ health, and this motivates me to act promptly and with precision. Thus, my patients are not merely a part of my work, but also a source of inspiration and motivation that drives me to become the best version of myself, both professionally and personally.
