“I like this idea because each case challenges me to observe, analyze and look for the best solution. I believe that evolution comes precisely from curiosity and the desire to continuously learn.
For me, medicine means more than treating a condition. It means seeing the person behind the diagnosis and understanding that each patient comes with their own fears, expectations and needs. I believe that good treatment begins with a relationship based on trust and communication. I try to look at each case not only from the perspective of the procedure to be performed, but also from the perspective of the patient’s experience. I want the patient to understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and to feel that they are listened to and involved in the decisions related to their treatment.”

What attracted you to dentoalveolar surgery?
I was attracted by the fact that it is a specialization that combines precision with practicality and, at the same time, the ability to solve complex problems. I like the idea that each case is different and that you have to think, plan and make decisions based on the particularities of each patient. For me, surgery means both technique and responsibility.
What do you like most about a complex surgical case?
I think I like the analysis and planning part the most. A complex case challenges you to look at the big picture, anticipate what might happen, and find the most appropriate solution for the patient. And the satisfaction is even greater when you see a well-thought-out plan turn into a good result.
How do you gain the trust of a patient who comes in with fear before an intervention?
First, I try to listen to them. Often, fear comes from the unknown, so I explain as clearly as possible what is going to happen, without minimizing the patient's emotions. I think it is important for them to feel that they have time to ask questions and that they are in safe hands. Sometimes, a few minutes of discussion before the intervention can make a huge difference.
What is the role of precision in a surgical procedure?
Precision is essential. In surgery, details matter a lot, and each step must be done in a controlled and careful manner. Good preparation and a clear plan allow you to be precise, reduce risks, and achieve a more predictable outcome.
How has laser technology changed the way you work?

Laser technology has given me more control in certain procedures and allowed me to work in a more precise and delicate way. It is a tool that complements the doctor's experience and technique very well and can contribute to better patient comfort and a minimally invasive approach in the right situations.
What is the most common myth about tooth extractions?
One of the most common myths is that tooth extractions are necessarily painful. In reality, with proper anesthesia, the procedure itself should not be painful. It is normal to experience some discomfort after the procedure, but this can be controlled and managed appropriately.
What professional case or moment confirmed that you chose the right specialization?
I think the moments that confirmed my choice were those in which a patient came in very anxious, with a problem that significantly affected their daily life, and at the end of the intervention they left calm and satisfied. The fact that you can eliminate pain, solve a problem and, at the same time, change the patient's experience with the dentist seems very valuable to me.
What has surgery taught you about yourself?
It has taught me to be patient, to pay close attention to detail, and to take my time when making important decisions. It has also taught me to accept that you can’t control everything, but you can control how well you prepare. I think surgery has made me more disciplined and responsible.
How does your passion for drawing come across in your attention to detail?
Drawing taught me to pay close attention to proportions, lines, and the small differences that change the overall picture. I think this attention to detail is also very much found in dentistry, especially surgery, where precision is so important. For me, drawing and medicine share the same need for observation, patience, and control of gesture.
