Dentist Brașov - Dr. Marius Goția, medic specialist în chirurgie dento-alveolară.

Dr. Marius Goția

Specialist Doctor – DENTOALVEOLAR SURGERY

About

Dr. Marius Goția graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Tîrgu Mureș in 2012.

He chose the profession of dentist thanks to his cousin, who instilled in him a passion for dentistry and served as a role model for him. The greatest challenge is when he has to help his patients overcome their fear of the dentist, by giving them the necessary attention, confidence and empathy, and supporting them throughout their treatment. The satisfaction, of course, comes when the patient is happy and confident in their smile.

He spends his free time with family and friends. Films and sport are also the activities through which Dr. Marius Goția relaxes.

Philosophy

In dentistry, attention to detail and empathy are essential. I firmly believe that every patient deserves a personalised approach, tailored to their needs and concerns. By paying meticulous attention to every aspect of treatment, I aim to create an experience in which patients feel understood and safe. I am here to offer more than just the right treatment – I want to build a relationship based on respect and trust.

Interrview with dr. Marius Goția

What inspired you to choose dentistry and, subsequently, to specialise in dentoalveolar surgery?

Ever since my university days, I have been drawn to the precision and impact that oral and maxillofacial surgery can have in restoring patients’ health. Dentistry, in general, has given me the opportunity to combine science with empathy, but surgery is the field that has allowed me to provide real solutions in more complex cases and to make a significant difference in my patients’ lives.

Did you have a mentor who had a significant influence on your career? How did they shape your working style and approach to surgery?

Yes, I had the opportunity to work under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Paulo Malo, a recognised authority in the field of dentistry and the inventor of the revolutionary All-on-4 concept. He has transformed the way complex cases of oral rehabilitation are approached. From him, I learnt to approach each case with a combination of scientific rigour, creativity and human sensitivity. His style of meticulous planning and always putting the patient first has profoundly influenced my professional approach, providing me with a model of excellence in surgery.

What motivates you most in your day-to-day work, and what gives you the greatest professional satisfaction?

My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing a patient’s transformation – not just in terms of their physical function, but also in terms of their self-confidence. The fact that I can help patients regain their smile and their health motivates me to give my very best every day.

What are the essential skills required to succeed in dento-alveolar surgery?

Attention to detail is essential, along with patience and the ability to communicate effectively with patients. In addition, dexterity, the ability to make quick and confident decisions in critical situations, and a constant desire to learn and improve are absolutely essential.

How does the multidisciplinary team at DENT ESTET Brașov influence the way you approach complex cases?

Working in a multidisciplinary team gives me the advantage of being able to view complex cases from multiple perspectives. Collaborating with my colleagues from various specialities enables us to find the best solutions for patients and to implement personalised treatment plans.

What role does technology play in your day-to-day work?

Technology is a key pillar of my work. From digital imaging, which improves diagnostic accuracy, to the advanced instruments used in surgical procedures, technology not only streamlines the process but also significantly increases the chances of an optimal outcome for the patient.

What was your experience like in France, in Lanvallay, and what differences did you notice between dentistry in France and in Romania?

My experience in France was extremely valuable. I learnt to manage a wide range of cases and to work within a well-structured healthcare system, where prevention plays a vital role and patients are very well informed in this regard. However, what impresses me most about DENT ESTET Brașov is that we have access to even more advanced technologies than those I used in France. This, combined with the advantage of being part of a multidisciplinary team, allows me to tackle complex cases much more effectively and to offer patients personalised, integrated solutions of the highest standard.

How do you envisage your career developing over the next 10 years, and what new areas of surgery would you like to explore?

Over the next 10 years, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of modern surgical techniques, explore the field of advanced implantology further, and perhaps help train the next generation of specialists through mentoring. I also hope to be involved in research and innovation projects.

Let’s suppose you had to give up dentistry. Which field would you choose to move into, and why?

I would probably choose competitive sport, particularly basketball or tennis. I’ve always been passionate about sport, and the discipline and strategy required in competition are values that I also find in my professional practice.

What advice would you give to young people aspiring to a career in dentoalveolar surgery?

I would tell them to build a solid foundation of knowledge, to be open to continuous learning, and not to forget the importance of empathy. In surgery, technique is important, but the relationship with the patient is what sets a good doctor apart from an exceptional one.

What are your interests and hobbies outside of dentistry, and how do you spend your free time?

Apart from dentistry, sport is one of my great passions. I enjoy playing basketball or tennis, as well as travelling and discovering new places. I also spend time with family and friends, which helps me to reconnect and recharge my batteries.
