Dr. Oana Tiloiu

Dr. Oana Tiloiu is a dentist specialising in paediatric dentistry at the DENT ESTET 4 KIDS clinic in Timișoara. She graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the ‘Victor Babeș’ University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara.

She furthered her professional training by completing a postgraduate course in inhalation sedation at the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest. She is qualified in inhalation sedation, a method which may be recommended in certain situations to reduce anxiety and increase the child’s comfort during dental treatment.

Dr. Tiloiu pays particular attention to the first visit and to helping children gradually settle into the clinic environment. She believes that positive experiences in childhood can help foster a healthy relationship with dental care in the long term.

Her approach is based on patience, communication and respecting each child’s own pace. The instruments and stages of treatment are explained in simple language, through explanations and play, so that the young patient knows what to expect and feels involved in the experience at the surgery.

Prevention is a key part of her work. During consultations, she assesses oral health and the risk of tooth decay, and provides parents with recommendations on dental hygiene, diet, sealants and regular check-ups, tailored to the child’s age and needs.

Dr. Oana Tiloiu has additional training in composite dental restorations and minimally invasive procedures, including laser lingual frenectomy. Attending paediatric dentistry courses and conferences enables her to constantly update her knowledge and treatment protocols.

For children with anxiety or who find it difficult to cooperate, she adopts a gradual approach. Depending on the specifics of each case, treatment may involve acclimatisation sessions, support from the clinic’s psychologist or inhalation sedation, where medically indicated.

In her spare time, Dr. Oana Tiloiu enjoys hiking, jogging and snowboarding – activities that energise her and help her reconnect with nature. She is also a snowboarding instructor, whenever time allows.
