What is a surgical guide and how is it used?
Surgical guides represent the latest advancements in dental implant technology. Guided surgery has revolutionized all aspects of surgery, from knee replacements to dental implants. A surgical guide is created by taking an impression of the desired surgical implant and a 3D digital image.
Dentists then take these clinical records of the oral anatomy and create a device using specialized software. This device, the surgical guide, is manufactured in the dental laboratory to be used during the dental implant insertion.
