How does the dentist check implant stability?
After implant placement, the dentist can check its stability using Osstell Beacon®. The device uses resonance frequency analysis (RFA), a non-invasive method that does not affect the implant.
The result is expressed as a value called ISQ – Implant Stability Quotient, on a scale from 1 to 99.
The ISQ value indicates the level of implant stability at the time of measurement. The dentist can repeat the assessment throughout treatment to monitor changes in stability.
The value is not interpreted in isolation, but together with the clinical examination, imaging investigations and the individual characteristics of each case.

Why is dental implant stability important?
