Modern aesthetic dentistry treatments can achieve remarkable smile transformations, but a successful result involves much more than perfectly white and aligned teeth. The shape, size, and proportions of the teeth must harmonize with the patient's facial features without compromising functionality.
Invited to the “Vorbește Lumea” show on PRO TV, Dr Adelin Radu, a specialist in Dental Prosthetics, explained how treatments involving dental veneers and crowns are personalized and the role digital technology plays in designing a smile tailored to each patient.
Planning an aesthetic dental treatment begins with a detailed analysis of the patient's facial features. The dentist evaluates facial proportions, lip contours, and the shape and size of the teeth, as well as how much of the teeth are visible when the patient speaks or smiles.
Using SmileCloud and Digital Smile Design, two digital smile design software solutions used at DENT ESTET clinics, the dentist can integrate the information gathered during the diagnostic stage and create a digital avatar of the patient. The shape, length, and proportions of the teeth can then be adjusted to complement the patient's facial features, allowing the patient to actively participate in choosing the most suitable smile design.
