Invisible braces

Invisible braces or clear aligners are a discreet and effective solution for achieving the most beautiful version of your smile. There are situations in which orthodontic treatment is avoided due to fear of how others will perceive the patient, as a result of the visibility of traditional braces with brackets. However, there are now a multitude of options that do not affect facial aesthetics.

At DENT ESTET, orthodontic treatments with aligners (clear aligners) are tailored to meet the needs of perfectionist patients who value both functionality and the natural appearance of their smile. When teeth are crooked or crowded, emotional problems can arise, but especially problems related to oral health. Lack of proper hygiene due to misaligned teeth leads to tartar, tooth decay or gum problems. In addition, malocclusions can affect chewing, causing digestive problems that have a negative impact on overall health.

Why choose clear braces?

Orthodontic treatment with clear aligners is not just about improving the functionality of your smile. The impact on aesthetics and, implicitly, on your well-being is evident from the outset. Whether you are dealing with crowding, spacing or other orthodontic problems, the effectiveness of clear aligners cannot be questioned.

Invisible braces are, in fact, transparent and removable aligners that exert gentle but constant pressure on the teeth to gradually reposition them. The aligners are customised using modern technology, and the results can be predicted even before treatment begins. However, it is important to follow the orthodontist's recommendation regarding the wearing period (approximately 22 hours out of 24) in order to achieve the desired results.

Aligners – The most discreet orthodontic treatment

Advanced technology

Clear aligners are the fastest and most effective way to straighten your smile. The technology behind aligners is backed by over 20 years of scientific research and 900 patents. According to data, over 6.5 million smiles have been corrected thanks to aligner technology.

Customised solution

Regardless of the type of clear aligner chosen, each set of aligners is 100% customised to the patient's unique dental structure, ensuring superior comfort and minimal impact on the gums. The number of aligners and the duration of treatment vary depending on the diagnosis and the time required to correct the problems.

Efficiency and speed

Treatment with clear aligners is effective shortly after starting, with the first results visible after six months. Advanced technology allows for control of tooth repositioning, providing constant improvement without the discomfort associated with wearing traditional braces.

Easy to use

Choosing aligners makes orthodontic treatment simple and effortless. According to the orthodontist's recommendation, aligners should be worn for 22 hours a day, but they can be removed while eating or brushing your teeth.

A discreet option

Aligners easily go unnoticed by those around you, giving you the confidence and freedom to smile without fear of being scrutinised. This discretion makes them ideal for teenagers and adults who want a natural, aesthetic smile without compromising their physical appearance during treatment.

FAS Aligner System®

The FAS Aligner System® clear aligner is another modern alignment option, with an innovative system that combines functionality and aesthetics.

What sets the FAS® dental appliance apart is its focus on achieving excellent occlusion with as few adjustments as possible, which means fewer aligners.

Since teeth alignment is achieved in harmony with the temporomandibular joints, the chewing process is greatly improved after treatment completion, which is a major advantage for those experiencing occlusion-related problems.

In addition, the FAS® dental appliance uses innovative materials adapted to each stage of treatment, thus optimising monitoring and reducing treatment time. The system is designed to integrate seamlessly into your daily routine, being easy to use and maintain. This ensures a pleasant experience without compromising the aesthetics of your smile or dental functionality.

Spark® Aligner

The Spark™ clear aligner stands out in the dental aligner market thanks to TruGEN™ technology, an innovation from Ormco, an American company with over 60 years of experience in orthodontics.

TruGEN™ is a patented material that is thinner and stronger than other types of plastic used in the creation of clear aligners. It also does not contain Bisphenol A (BPA), mercury, latex or phthalates, substances commonly found in plastic materials.

Thanks to TruGEN™ technology, Spark™ braces are less visible, more comfortable and more resistant to staining. In addition, the innovative design ensures that Spark™ aligners have excellent retention on the tooth surface and superior comfort thanks to their rounded and smooth edges.

Invisalign® Alignment

Introduced to the market in 1998, Invisalign® is one of the most popular clear aligner options.

The customised aligners are made from a durable thermoplastic material called SmartTrack®.

The material created specifically for the Invisalign® system is the result of over 20 years of study and research, ensuring increased comfort and faster teeth straightening than traditional braces.

Invisalign® treatment is based on a series of investigations carried out by our orthodontists, including digital scanning of the teeth, intraoral photographs and X-rays, and occlusal consultation using the revolutionary MODJAW®scanner. The data obtained from these investigations carried out at DENT ESTET clinics is then processed using advanced 3D software in the United States to create the treatment plan and set of customised aligners.

Frequently asked questions

1. How does the aligner dental appliance work?

Treatment with clear aligners involves the use of customised aligners that exert gentle pressure on the teeth to gradually move them into the desired position. Each set of aligners is worn for approximately 1-2 weeks, after which it is replaced with the next set, continuing the process until the treatment is complete.

2. Are clear aligners as effective as fixed/traditional braces?

Yes, the effectiveness of dental aligners is demonstrated by the continuous evolution of this type of orthodontic solution. When worn according to the orthodontist's recommendations, clear plastic aligners are successfully used to correct certain orthodontic conditions, such as crowded and spaced teeth, diastema (commonly known as a "gapped smile"), certain types of occlusion (reverse, crossbite, open bite, deep bite). On the other hand, it should be noted that for the correction of more serious orthodontic conditions, such as malocclusions (classes II and III), the orthodontist may recommend treatment with fixed braces.

3. How long does treatment with clear aligners take?

The duration of treatment with transparent braces is one of the major advantages of using dental aligners. Depending on the complexity of each case, treatment with aligners varies between 6 and 24 months. It is important to note, however, that if the duration of treatment is longer, the first results can be seen after 6 months of regular use of the aligners, as recommended by the dentist.

4. How many hours should transparent aligners be worn?

Regardless of the duration of treatment with clear aligners, it is recommended that the aligners be worn for at least 22 hours out of 24. They should only be removed when eating and brushing your teeth. It is not recommended to eat with aligners fixed to your teeth, as food or liquids can get stuck and lead to the growth of bacteria that cause cavities if not removed in time.

5. Are there any dietary restrictions during treatment?

No. Since clear aligners can and should be removed during meals, there are no dietary restrictions during treatment with invisible braces.

6. Is treatment with clear braces painful?

At first, the use of dental aligners (clear mouth guards) may cause discomfort or tooth sensitivity, but this sensation is temporary. You can consult your orthodontist if the discomfort persists, and they may prescribe painkillers or investigate whether the pain/discomfort has other causes.

7. Is clear aligner therapy an option for me?

Treatment with clear braces is recommended from adolescence onwards, after the permanent teeth have erupted. However, the decision is up to the orthodontist, who will carry out a comprehensive analysis of your dental health to determine whether this option is right for you.

8. How much does a set of clear braces cost?

The price of transparent braces varies depending on the complexity of the case, the duration of treatment and the type of aligner chosen. We look forward to seeing you at one of our DENT ESTET clinics in the nine cities where we operate (Bucharest, Sibiu, Brașov, Oradea, Arad, Ploiești, Timișoara, Craiova) to discuss with the doctors from our DE Smart Ortho Team division about your personalised treatment plan, which will include an estimate of the exact costs, as well as the available payment options.
